Report on Abduction by Detectives In New York

The new york private investigators investigate kidnapping and abductions in the United States every year. In 2010, the United States was ranked sixth in the world for “kidnapping-for-ransom” crimes, according to the available statistics (after Columbia, Italy, Lebanon, Peru, and the Philippines). In June 2010, Senator John McCain stated that Phoenix, Arizona was the “Kidnapping Capital of America.” With 370 cases in 2010, Phoenix is ranked second in the world only to Mexico City, what this comes to show is that kidnapping is a growing global epidemic with no realistic solution.

The detectivesin New York has defined kidnapping as, “the taking away or transportation of a person against the person’s will, usually to hold the person in false imprisonment, a confinement without legal authority.” This may be done for ransom or in furtherance of another crime, or in connection with a child custody dispute.  Non-custodial parent abductions of children were, by far, the number one type of kidnapping occurring across the globe in 2010 and they often do not get included in the most common statistical reporting of abductions. Kidnapping for ransom is certainly a common occurrence in many parts of the world today, especially, in Latin America.

The newyork private investigators suggest, if you learn the abductor’s name, your location or potential plans DO NOT use their name or talk about them unless they shared that information with you directly. There is no need to make the situation worse because you “know too much.”

Most importantly, retain your sense of dignity and self-worth. Find religion and pray regularly; studies have shown that people who pray regularly and thoughtfully have higher confidence levels, elevated endorphin and serotonin levels within the body and are able to deal with traumatic experiences more effectively. P.O.W.s have often related that prayer emboldened their spirit and maintained their will to live.

Detectives in New York Providing Investigative Solutions

In domestic issues, the detectives in New York have played a pivotal roll performing private investigations for firms and clients. They dealt with cases as background checks on potential suitors, baby sitters, nannies, maids, cleaning crews, yard workers, dog walkers and anyone else who might have limited or direct access to your home.

When someone prints out a flyer and says they have a business, most of us just take it for granted and believe they are legitimate. What do you really know about your maid or your grounds keeper? Do you truly know enough about them to give them access to your home? The answer is undoubtedly NO! Usually, when theft occurs, the culprit turns out to be a member of the cleaning crew or the grounds keepers. Taking measures to protect your loved ones and the property you have worked so hard to earn, can be accomplished through a simple, inexpensive background check done through NYC Private Investigators.

There are a lot of parents who would like to check on the friends of their teenage children, especially the ones wanting to date their daughters. Do they have criminal histories? What does their driving record look like? Are they safe or potentially dangerous? Single adults might want to check on their potential dates as well.

Then, of course, there are divorce cases and pre-divorce cases. There are detectives in New York who will stretch the law to get the proof they need for their client. These actions could seriously damage the client’s court case, as well as jeopardize the investigator’s license.

Unfortunately, divorces are a reality. And often, both parties will hire NYC Private Investigators to dig up the dirt. In these types of cases, a Private Investigator could provide surveillance, during which photographs or videotape of the offending party could be obtained. The unlawful paramour would be completely investigated. Friends, neighbors, former lovers or spouses, all could be interviewed. Many of these cases also involve child custody cases, where one parent is trying to prove they are fit to be a parent than the other while other times there are allegations of abuse that require investigation.

Also, with the aging of the Baby Boomers, more people are hiring NYC Private Investigators to check up on their loved ones in nursing homes or hospitals to make sure they are receiving the care they deserve.

New York Private Detective Tips on Process Servers Service

New York Private Detective while delivering legal documents, a summons and a complaint to a defendant could face difficulties when they cannot be reached or available.  In most cases some individuals ignore the service of process or avoid the service and then deny that they were not provided service properly.

Courts do not accept claims that the defendant was not served properly. NYC Private Investigators will make several attempts cooperatively before dropping off the legal documents in an unfavorable way for example dropping it off outside a door.
Here are some cases of process server’s service.
  •  A process server made many attempts at the defendant’s door and knew the woman was home but would not answer her door. He saw the woman sitting next to an open, first-floor window shredding lettuce and washing it in a colander. The process server was frustrated and tossed the summons in the colander.
The court believed this method of service was creative and considers the process server’s toss as effective service.
  •  The process server attempted to serve the defendant four times at his residence leaving notes and asking the defendant to contact the process server.  The fifth attempt the defendant hid in the house and refused to answer the door but responded to the intercom and was observed looking out a window.  Disturbed, the process server visually showed the summons and complaint and stated “You are served”, dropping the summons and complaint at the front doorstep of his residence.  The server completed a proof of service and filed it with the court.  According to the defendant he filed jurisdiction on lack of service.
The court rejected the claim because the defendant failed to fight against the summons and complaint.

In summary, courts do not accept claims that the defendant was not served properly.  If  NYC Private Investigators Process Server comes to the defendant’s front door, they should answer it and take documents.

New York Private Detective Warns about Electronic Criminal Activities

NYC Private Investigators stated that with the use of electronic technology criminal activities are becoming widespread and common.  New York Private Detective handles a majority of criminal investigations, where background searches, database searches, history address searches are commenced to locate the criminal.  As we are all aware, criminals could break in to homes or establishments to steal valuables or access to personal information. To ensure security and protection of personal information here is some knowledge to be aware of. It is also advised to consider twice when using electronic devices.

GPS

While a family was outside watching a game, thieves had broken into their car and had stolen items.  Things that were stolen from the car were garage door remote control, money and a GPS. The thieves used the GPS system and tracked down the victim’s house and stole everything. The family returned to the house and found out its desolated condition.  New York Private Detective asks ever family not to let loose any electronic devices rather keep it secure to avoid such mishaps.

Mobile Phone (Scenario 1)

A lady’s purse was stolen which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet etc.  In 20 minutes the lady had called her husband telling him of what just happened.  The husband informed her he received a text asking about a bank card pin number and he sent it a little while ago.

When they rushed to the bank they learned the money had already been withdrawn.  The thief used the cell phone to text “Hubby” in the contact list to get a hold of the bank card pin number. So, the NYC Private Investigators warn every individual not to save any number in the mobile devices with personal information. You should avoid naming your contacts or give out your personal information through texts messages.

Mobile Phone (Scenario 2)

Another scenario, if friends or family would like to meet you somewhere, be sure to call back and confirm that the message came from them.  If you don’t reach them, be careful going to places to meet ‘family and friends’ who text you.

Conclusion

Keep in mind do not reveal the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.  Avoid using names like home, honey, hubby, sweetheart, dad and mom.  Also, do not release sensitive information through texts.  Confirm by calling back.

NYC Private Investigators Distinguishing Skip Tracing from Missing People

NYC Private Investigators define skip tracing as the process for a professional or individual finding a person whose whereabouts are unknown. Investigators are able to skip trace and perform many searches to locate a missing person.   Note that the suspect’s primary occupation is to move to a new location and leave minimal clues behind to locate them.

There are many types of missing persons:
  •  Family members looking for relatives and friends
  • Friends searching for individuals whom they lost in touch with
  • Parents looking for their child who ran away or was abducted
  • Attorney’s looking for defendants or plaintiff in cases
  •  Creditors looking for those who owe them money
  •  Insurance companies looking for a witness
  • Private Investigators searching for a scam artist or identity thief
Before commencing an investigation the new york private detectives first need to determine what type of person is missing and then take appropriate actions.  There could be many reasons a person could be missing.  A person could be intentionally missing or unintentionally missing.
  •   Intentionally Missing Persons
These missing people know they are being looked for and are concealing themselves so that they are not found.  These could include:

-   Fugitives,
-   Abductors,
-   Runners,
-   Professional skippers,
-   The recluse
-   The assisted

  •  Unintentional Missing Persons
These are individuals who would not consider themselves missing.
-   Long-Time-No-See
-   The Lost
-   The Typo
-   The Adoptee’s Search

The new york private detectives need to know, why they are missing and then plan the action, tools and techniques are needed for a successful skip trace and search.  A skip trace could involve one or more of these steps.

  • Surveillance: The NYC Private Investigators or the skip tracers may observe homes or obtain details after canvassing and establish their location.
  •  Background Checks: Skip tracers and Private Investigators often run background checks in order to figure out past habits.
  •  Interviews and Questioning: The new york private detectives need to speak with the individuals who are close to the suspect.
  •  Investigative Impersonations: A skip tracer may pose as another profession to obtain details and whereabouts.

Methods of New York Private Detective to Locate Missing People

NYC Private Investigators have been involved in finding a missing person such as fugitives and abducted children through the use of cell phone pinging.  Through the assistance of a cellular network provider, a New York Private Detective can locate a phone connected to their cell phone network either through pinging or triangulation methods. Pinging is a digital process and triangulation is an analog process.

Pinging
A ping on a cell phone is simply the process of determining the location of a cell phone at any point of time by utilizing the phone GPS location capabilities.  While investigating about the missing individual, the New York Private Detective pings to that individuals’ cell phone.  It sends a signal to the particular cell phone and has its respond with the requested data.  When the digital cell phone is pinged, it determines its latitude and longitude via GPS and sends these back via MS system.  The location could be identified within the area of 50 to 300 meters.
However, if a missing person has a GPS enabled cell phone then only the NYC Private Investigators can locate him using the technology.
Triangulation
The triangulation process is used in older style analog cellular phones and digital mobile phones that do not have GPS.  In that case the NYC Private Investigators take the help of a cellular network provider, who can determine whether the phone is within a hundred feet using triangulation.  The cell towers are usually 6 to 12 miles apart (less in cities) and a phone is usually within the range of at least three of them.  By comparing the signal strength and time lag for the phone’s carrier to reach at each tower, the network provider can triangulate the phone’s approximate position.
Similar technology is used to track down lost aircraft and yachts through their radio beacons and satellites, where older cell phone use arrays from cell towers.

New York Private Detective Working with Informants

A New York Private Detective depends on various clues and information to carry out his investigative task. He may carry out several surveillance methods whether on foot or by car to keep an eye on the suspects. But at time, the NYC Private Investigators require certain information for cases, accessing which are very difficult. For issues as these, they have to depend on the informants who provide valuable clues that add more strength to the investigation process.

However, the practice of appointing informants is seen as an unethical practice and its authenticity has been questioned too. Therefore, having a control over the informants is necessary to resist the possibilities of misguidance.
In most cases, these informants are criminals who promise to provide information to the New York Private Detective in return of certain favors. They hoped of getting justice or dropped charges and even getting cut down from the legal punishments. At times, trusting the informants become a question as the NYC Private Investigators had to analyze and cross check the information and decides the reliability. Depending on the informants is often challenging as chances of getting hurt or killed while collecting the information is pretty big. The investigators sometime have to spend money along with time to get hold of the information and it is found useless, the effort goes in vain.
Usually, the taxi drivers, shopkeepers, hotel employees, bartenders and men that deal with various stratums of people act as informants. This section has the maximum chances of getting around with the criminals. Law has allowed the usage of informants for the purpose of investigations. But the New York Private Detective should follow some of the legal norms. They can keep the identity of the informants’ secret, until and unless he is required to stand as a witness in the court.
